What is A.A.?
Alcoholics Anonymous is a voluntary, worldwide fellowship of men and women from all walks of life who meet together to attain and maintain sobriety. The only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues of fees for A.A. membership.
"All sections of this country and many of its occupations are represented, as well as many political, economic, social, and religious backgrounds. We are people who normally would not mix. The Difference between Open Meetings and Closed Meetings
(1) "open meetings" are for anyone interested in A.A. Members may bring relatives or friends.
2) "closed meetings" are for individuals that have a desire to stop drinking.
If you are mandated by a court or treatment program to attend Alcoholics Anonymous, open meetings are the best meetings to attend. This website provides an open meeting schedule for Gwinnett County - click here.
